Surfers with stupid hair/hats

Im in Puerto Escondido right now with two non surfing friends who have come to the conclusion over the last few days that surfers are the biggest posers/tossers going. I can see where they are coming from cos there is a non stop stream of guys with stupid hair, stupid hats, walking round with their shorts half way down their arse,in their bare feet, with a board with no leash on it at about 2pm in the day when the surf has turned into onshore muck.

There are are a couple of hundred gnarley dudes here, but Ive just come back from the beach at 9am where its almost double overhead with barrels everywhere with 14 guys in the water. I think the rest of them prefer only to surf after 11am when its 20mph onshore. Im embarresed right now to be associated with surfing.

At least here the water keeps the arseholes away, if the water was 10 degrees in Cali/Hawaii/Oz how many of them do you reckon would surf

Haha man, head down to lahinch on a bank holiday and you'l see the same shit. The only thing is that at least when you are abroad people are tanned and good looking, the silly hats look decidely more riduclous when they are on a freckly, ginger haired, pale skinned, overweight Irish person.
